Carrickfergus app for iPhone and iPad

Welcome to Carrickfergus Castle AR Heritage Views - an experimental app created by Zubr.co and Moonraker VFX - A unique augmented reality experience, you can travel back in time at various points around Carrickfergus Castle using just the movement of your iPad or iPhone. Turn up the volume on your device to hear the sound effects!

There are three sequences to choose from:

Fire the Cannon
The cannon found at the Grand Battery can be fired just by walking towards it! Launch the Fire the Cannon scene and travel to the location specified, before following the augmented reality instructions. Pause and rewind the sequence by stepping backwards and forwards.

Explore the Outer Wall
See the stages of the castle’s construction from the green space outside the grounds. Launch the Explore the Outer Wall scene and travel to the location specified, before following the augmented reality instructions. Walk along the brick path to reveal the castle’s construction history, pausing and rewinding the sequence with your steps.

Reveal the Keep
From the outer ward, you can reveal a historical scene inside the Keep just by hovering your device over it. Launch the Reveal the Keep scene and travel to the location specified, before following the augmented reality instructions. The scene will be revealed when you point towards the Keep.

Whilst in the augmented reality scene, you can also adjust the direction of the effects with the slider on the right hand side.
